Gagra

Promenade

Description:

The embankment in Gagra is a place where tourists leisurely stroll, enjoying the magnificent sea and mountain landscape, where you can sit quietly in one of the cafes and try local gastronomic delights, where routes to the main attractions of the famous Abkhazian resort begin.

The promenade along the edge of the sea stretches for 6 km and connects Old and New Gagra. But the consequences of the Georgian-Abkhaz conflict significantly reduced the walking area. Today, the landscaped area for walking is a 600-meter line in the old part of the city.

The embankment of Gagra begins from the city beach and the Aqua Park, and ends at the Independence Monument. At the foot of the stele there are always flowers brought by locals and tourists in memory of those killed in internecine conflicts. Walking along the embankment, you can look into the Seaside Park, enjoy the aroma of magnolias, sit in the shade of cypresses.

Getting to the waterfront in Gagra is not difficult. All city alleys and alleys that lead to the beach will lead to the local promenade. From the railway station you need to go to Demerdzhil Street and turn left towards the city market.
