Yupsharsky canyon "Stone bag"
on the 18 kilometer road from the village of Bzyb to Lake Ritsa
Description:
Yupsharsky Canyon "Stone Sack" is one of the incomprehensible monuments of nature, which is located in the Caucasus in mountainous Abkhazia. After the earthquake, a huge rock split and thus formed a canyon.
The name "Stone bag" was received for a reason, because its shape resembles definitely this object. The length of the canyon reaches 8 kilometers. Interestingly, with each subsequent meter, the gorge narrows. At the entrance, the width is 100 meters, and if you reach the end, the distance becomes only 20 meters. This bottleneck is called the Yupshar Gate, where 2 rocks almost touch, leaving a narrow strip of blue sky.
If you use a sightseeing bus or car, you can easily reach the Yupshar Canyon. It is located on the 18th kilometer of the road and starts from the village of Bzyb.
