The Chapel of Our Lady of Iver

The chapel and the spring of St. Basilisk are located near the village of Guma, in Abkhazia. This shrine, as you know, is one of the most revered by Christians.

Built in the lV century, the chapel, as the locals believed for centuries, was in the past the burial place of the early Christian martyr St. Basilis, whose sincere faith in Christ contributed to his persecution.

From year to year, not only tourists, but also Christian pilgrims come to the church erected at the burial site.

It is believed that bathing in the holy spring, you can get rid of various ailments. In addition to beautiful legends, the chapel has an incomparable environment of beautiful and unique nature, when visiting which, you will definitely want to find yourself here again.

You can get to the chapel from the city by taxi. The journey will take about an hour.
