Dormition Cathedral of the Drand Monastery

The Assumption Cathedral of the Drand Monastery is a cathedral of the Abkhazian Orthodox Church located on the northern outskirts of the village of Dranda, in the Gulrypsh district of Abkhazia. The Drand Cathedral was built presumably in the VI-VII centuries. In the Middle Ages it served as the residence of bishops. During the Turkish yoke, the temple suffered great damage, but it was restored.
