Museum of the Abkhaz Kingdom
About the company:
The collection of the Museum of the Abkhaz Kingdom contains exhibits of the Stone Age, the Bronze Age, antiquity and the Middle Ages. On the stands of the museum you can see the weapons of the ancient Abkhazians, various household items, decorative and applied art, photographs, maps. Among the unique exhibits of the museum are the traditional press of Abkhazian winemakers, made of linden trunk, a bronze cauldron dating from the VII century BC (the period of Koban culture), accidentally discovered at one of the residents of the village of Ankhua, as well as a model of a traditional Abkhazian estate. Of particular interest is the Abkhaz boat, which was restored according to the sketches of 1826 by the famous traveler, former French consul in Tiflis, Jean Francois Gamba. The boat is designed for five people, built of chestnut and ash. On such boats, the Abkhazians went to sea in the XIX century. The project to recreate the Abkhaz boat was carried out with the financing of Sberbank of the Republic of Abkhazia. The museum is accompanied by an audio guide on all routes of the Anakopia Reserve. The exposition of the Museum of the Abkhazian Kingdom is constantly replenished with new exhibits.
