Lake Riza

Lake Ritsa is located in the mountains of Abkhazia. This is a beautiful, picturesque place that has long been visited by both locals and tourists. The most beautiful lake of our country was formed due to an earthquake, when part of the Pshegishha massif collapsed, forming an unusual barrier. This happened about 250 years ago.

On some peaks of the surrounding mountains, snow is constantly lying. There are many legends that the locals know. The lake itself can also change color. It depends on the life of phytoplankton, on flowing rivers.

Near Ritsa there are hotels where you can stay. The most active period when tourists arrive begins in spring and ends in summer.

Not far from the lake are both natural and man-made attractions. For example, Stalin’s dacha, which became a state museum.

For admiring the lake is decorated with a special area, with benches. You can buy souvenirs. Transport to the lake does not go, it is better to get on your own.
