Excursion to the fabulous Berat

In Berat there is everything that travelers love: a fortress with chic views, a mountain river and ancient houses with tiled roofs. We will explore all three districts of the old city: the hilltop fortress, Muslim Mangalem and Orthodox Gorica. Local people live in them very friendly and peaceful. You will learn about their traditions, life and cultural characteristics.

In the fabulous Berat, you:

• Walk through the cobbled streets of the medieval fortress;
• Visit the ancient churches of the XIII-XVII centuries with original frescoes;
• Walk around the Muslim quarter of Mangalem and Orthodox Gorica;
• Visit the Royal Mosque of the XV century with painted wooden ceilings;
• Understand why Berat is called the “city of a thousand windows” and why it is listed as a UNESCO heritage site.
• If desired, we will have lunch in a local restaurant with a chic view of the city.

And I will share the history, legends and traditions of the city.
