Mesi Bridge
Mesi Bridge, Boks, Shkodra, Albania
Description:
Mesi Bridge is a pedestrian bridge located near the town of Shkoder in southern Albania. It is part of the Albanian Gate motorway and connects part of the city with the rest of the southern region, which is home to Greeks, Serbs, Muslims and Turks. Initially, this bridge consisted of wooden beams. In 2006, the steel part of the bridge was built. The facility was expanded from two roads (pedestrian and motorway) to three. The existing part of the bridge remains the same. Until recently, the bridge was closed. In recent years, Albania has made significant investments in the repair of bridges in the country. This work included the restoration of the Mesi facility. Today, the bridge is open and free for pedestrians daily from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. The nearest airport to the Mesi Bridge is in Tirana. The nearest railway station is in the town of Dibra, which is 30 minutes away.
