Lake Juclar
Andorra, Inclez Valley, Canillo, Lake Juclar
Description:
Lake Juclar is the largest lake in Andorra, which lies in the beautiful Inclez valley, framed by rocky mountain peaks, often covered with snow caps. The lake is located at an altitude of more than 2300 meters above sea level, near the city of Canillo. Already on the way to it, most of which will be walked, the unimaginable landscapes of the Andorran Pyrenees are breathtaking.
The tourist trail to the lake is laid along the river Rio de Juclar, where trout is abundant. Having already entered the Inclez Valley, one of the most beautiful in the country, which in the spring is covered with a carpet of wild daffodils, it is impossible not to pay attention to a small stone bridge thrown over the river. This ancient humpback bridge has stood here for centuries and now it has become an integral part of the picturesque landscape. But it was built in the 18th century and is now interested in it, mainly tourists who go to Lake Juclar. If the climatic conditions are too harsh for a walking tour, guests are taken to Lake Juclar by helicopter.
The largest and deepest lake of Andorra has become not only a place of rest in landscaped tourist centers on its banks, which are open all year round, but also a favorite place for divers. Crystal clear waters guarantee excellent visibility under water and an indescribable experience. Diving is practiced not only at night, but also such exclusive as winter, under the ice, when it fetters the surface of the lake. Lake Juclar looks like a mirror, among the mountain slopes, which displays the sky with its serene surface.
