Sculpture by Salvador Dali

Av. Meritxell, Andorra la Vella, Andorra

Description:

The sculpture of El Salvador was installed in the capital of Andorra – the city of Andorra la Vella on one of the central squares. It is called the Nobility of Time and depicts a melting clock. This is a copy of the famous work of the great artist and sculptor Salvador Dali, presented to the Principality of Andorra by Enrique Sabater, a confidant and agent of Dali in the period from 1968 to 1982.

The sculpture is made of bronze, its height is five meters, it is part of a series of works by Salvador Dali, symbolizing the passage of time. The sculpture depicts the dial of the clock, as if melting and slowly flowing down the tree trunk. The top of the dial is crowned with a crown, symbolizing the constant power of inexorable time over humanity. Sculptures of this series of brilliant artist and sculptor were installed in other cities of the world - in London, Berlin, Paris, Vienna, Courchevel.
