With a length of about one and a half kilometers, the avenue connects May Square and Congress Square. May Avenue is associated with many historical and political events in the life of Argentina, as a result of which invariably is in the focus of attention of tourists. In addition, the avenue passes directly through the historical center of the city, so a significant number of other attractions of Buenos Aires are located along the street. This is the presidential residence of Casa Rosada, the world-famous Tortoni Café and the Palace of Congress.
The avenue is also decorated with numerous sculptural compositions. For example, here you can find a copy of Rodnov’s “Thinker” and some other famous statues. And at the intersection of Maysky Prospect and July 9th Street, a large fountain is broken.
