Square of Italy
Description:
Plaza Italy is part of a delightful ensemble of five squares located in the heart of Mendoza. This square was founded as a tribute to the socially active Italian community and decorated in the appropriate style.
The central pedestal tells of friendship between peoples: two husbands, personifying Argentina and Italy, united by an Indian, proudly rise above the entire square. The most beautiful fountain in the center is decorated, like much here, in the Italian technique of painting - majolica.
Those tourists who do not know that came to the square of Italy, easily guess about it, just look at a copy of the famous Capitol wolf, who nurtured Romulus and Ram - the founders of Rome. In addition to this sculpture, there are many other interesting, sometimes even strange, statues on the square.
All this splendor is buried in the greenery of palm trees, in the shade of which you can perfectly hold a siesta, which is what the locals and endless streams of guests of the city do.
