Mendoza

Mitre Avenue

Mendoza Central Street

Description:

Named after one of Argentina’s presidents, Mitre Street is worth a visit while traveling through Argentina.

President Mitre, the resident of the 20 peso bill, was not only a prominent politician, but also the editor of one of Argentina’s most famous newspapers, La Nacion.

On the street of his memory is one of the many squares of Mendoza – Belgado Square, which for many years was a market square for local artisans. On this square named after the creator of the national flag of Argentina, there is a museum of Spanish art, which is simply necessary to visit.

Another interesting place on Mitre Street is the Athletic Club Argentino football club, where many successful athletes came from.

In general, this patriotic street reflects the whole flavor of Argentine society - from love of football to belonging to Spanish traditions.
