About the company:

The Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology of Paranagua was opened in 1962 and is an invaluable source of information and knowledge of the scientific, educational and cultural heritage.

The building of the museum is located in the city of Paranagua, in the premises of the former Jesuit College.

The museum’s collection includes more than 70,000 exhibits, most of them found in the Paraná region during archaeological and ethnographic research.

The entire collection is divided into four sections: archaeology (exhibits found during regional excavations between 1950 and 1970), folk culture (ceramics, textiles, wicker and other artifacts from villages throughout Brazil), ethnology (3,000 exhibits of forty Brazilian nationalities) and documentation (organization of local traveling exhibitions). The museum’s exhibits are available to researchers, teachers, students and society at large.
