About the company:

The Francisco Moreno Patagonia Museum, located in San Carlos de Bariloche, was opened in 1940. The museum occupies the eastern wing of the city administrative center, a building that has been awarded the title of National Historical Monument. There are exhibits on natural history and cultural anthropology.

Many collections of the museum are located in four thematic halls. In the hall of natural history there are various species of animals and interesting paleontological samples of the Patagonia region. In the prehistoric hall there is material evidence of human presence in this region more than 13,000 years ago. Various cave paintings and ancient tools tell about the religious and magical beliefs of the ancestors of the tribes of Tehuelche and Mapuche. In the ethnographic hall there are cultural objects of five different ethnic groups of the region. The regional history hall will tell about the fierce struggle of the Indians for their lands and their lives after the arrival of the Argentine government.

The museum also hosts temporary exhibitions, for example, dedicated to the scientist and researcher Francisco Moreno.
