Virgos came to Armenia, leaving Rome because of the persecution of Christians. The beauty of the virgin Hripsime struck the king and he wished to take her, but she replied that she had vowed to belong to Christ.
Deaconessa Gayane encouraged the virgin and ordered her not to succumb to the king’s demands, for which she was killed along with the rest of her pupils.
