When do I need an exit permit for a child?

If you go on a trip with the whole family, there are practically no significant difficulties in preparing. But what if a child has to leave the country alone without their parents? In what cases will you need documents to leave the country? What you need to consider, we will tell in this article.

Conditions under which an exit permit is required:

• The child travels with only one parent
• The child is under 18 years of age
• Travel abroad is planned for a non-permanent period

Accompanied by at least one parent, the consent of the other becomes optional. However, it may turn out that one of the parties may not agree with the departure of their child outside the country.

In such a situation, you will need to write an application to the migration service and wait for the subsequent trial, because without its decision, the child will not be able to leave the border. In addition, the parent with whom the baby will go, will need to give arguments and evidence why this trip is so necessary.

When traveling with a child with one parent, it is necessary to indicate:

• Specific dates of departure and arrival;
The exact names of the countries that the child will visit;
Full details of the parent with whom the child will go;

It should be noted that consent is not necessary if:

• One parent has died;
• One of the guardians does not have parental rights;
• The child is raised by one parent;

To confirm one of the above points, you will also need to present a special certificate.

Documents that must be provided when leaving a child with one of the parents:

Passport
You can register from the age of 14, but you can simply enter the child in your passport. At the same time, it is necessary that it was an old sample. In addition, you will need to provide a photo of the child.

Birth certificate
If the surname of the child does not coincide with the surname of the parent, it will be necessary to additionally provide a certificate of marriage and be sure to certify it with a notary.

It is also worth remembering the peculiarities of entry into the territory of other countries, each of which can present its own requirements. For example, when requesting a visa stamp, among other documents, you will need to attach a permit confirming the possibility of leaving a minor child with one of the parents. The absence of this document may result in the denial of the right to cross the territory from the border service.

Some countries may ask you for permission with an accurate translation and apostille. In this case, there are often cases when the original is left in the consulate, so it is necessary to make additional forms for the border service.

It is possible to get a refusal of entry if there are any debts. This is especially true of overdue loans, alimony, fines, utility payments, etc. Having at least one of the above debts can prevent you from leaving the country.

Traveling to visa-free countries does not require a mandatory power of attorney for the departure of a child with one parent.

Conditions under which permission from both parents is required

If children go abroad without parents, the mother and father must give consent. This will definitely be necessary:

When applying for a visa in Schengen countries with a complex visa regime
In countries where visa processing conditions are more complicated, permissions from both parents are required. It is recommended to carefully study all requirements in advance and prepare a package of documents so that you are missed.

The child is accompanied by third parties.
The possibility to leave the country for a child without parents is possible accompanied by third parties. In case of participation in competitions, any competitions, or just a joint trip with relatives, it is necessary to obtain a special paper from the father and mother, which will indicate their consent to travel.

In addition, you will need to submit a personal travel document of the child in order to travel abroad.
Compiling a power of attorney, you will need your personal and passport data about the representative and information about the sponsor, the organizer of the trip.

Do I need permission to travel to Russia?

In the case of accompanying the child during the trip by relatives and other trustees, a permitting document from the parents is not required. A birth certificate will suffice. For security and at will, you can, of course, issue a power of attorney, but this is not necessarily. She can be asked in the most extreme cases. For example, when checking in at the airport or boarding a train.

Also, the power of attorney will be requested in case of an accident, when the child should be hospitalized, or he will need an urgent operation. In these cases, in the absence of a document, assistance may be refused.
