Asking where to go for a couple of weeks of winter vacation, the average worker immediately comes up with several typical options: Thailand, Goa, Dominican Republic, and a number of other exotic countries, depending on their financial situation.

Why do we choose the sea/ocean? Probably, because the Russian winter does not spare us and any person in the cold season wants to find himself at least for a moment on a sandy beach somewhere in the Maldives. The oceans are oceans, and winter is given so that everyone can enjoy all its charms: white crispy snow under his feet, fresh blush on his cheeks and cheerful mood from skiing and skating. All this, of course, we regularly experience in the homeland, but there are more extreme ways of winter pastime that will remain in your memory for many, many years.

Turkey. erzurum

The picturesque mountain resort of Erzurum is located in eastern Turkey, at an altitude of 2000 meters above sea level. Primordial nature, many historical sights and hospitality of local residents distinguish this ancient city, described by Alexander Pushkin in the work "Journey to Arzrum", from other parts of Eastern Anatolia.

Erzurum is popular with European ski lovers due to its proximity to the large ski center of the country, Palandoken, located on the slopes of the mountain of the same name. The ski area is located here at an altitude of 2250-3125 meters above sea level. All tracks (7 blue, 8 red and 2 black) with a total length of 40 km are certified in accordance with international standards.

The ski season lasts 150 days a year - from November to May.

Austria. lengenfeld

The ancient town of Löngenfeld is the first and to date the only thermal resort in Tyrol, located in the largest in the Eastern Alps valley Otztal, 12 km from the popular ski center Zölden. This unique spring originates from melting glacial waters, which from a height of 3000 m, through the strata of rocks, seep to a depth of 2000 m, from where, enriched with mineral salts, return to the surface of the earth.

The average temperature in winter on the plains does not fall below -2 degrees, in mountainous areas it decreases to -14 degrees. The coldest winter month is January.
