Children's rest insurance
Last year, Dmitry Medvedev once again proposed a ban on sending children on vacation without insurance. The initiative has been approved by insurers. What do parents think about their children’s insurance? Has the idea developed over time?
Insurance of schoolchildren against accidents during their stay on vacation would solve a number of problems related to the safety of children. Importantly, these costs would have little impact on the parents’ budget. This type of insurance involves small costs, which in some cases can be borne not only by moms and dads, but also by holiday organizers.
But while the insurance of children on vacation has not found widespread. Neither parents nor holiday organizers are in a hurry to purchase policies. And citizens who decide to use this service prefer to save money: they sign contracts in which the insurance amount per child is very small. However, this picture is not typical for all regions of Russia. In some of them, the government uses administrative resources in the form of travel bans for uninsured children. Accordingly, in such regions, the service has become very popular. It is noteworthy that it is paid not only from the municipal budget, but also from the personal budgets of parents.
To implement Medvedev’s idea, a lot of work needs to be done, in particular, to campaign in favor of insurance and to explain to the population legal and other related issues. Technically, to make insurance massive, according to experts, is not difficult. The main thing here is to study statistics on various insurance cases and form appropriate tariffs. By the way, the growth of prices for vouchers, the cost of which includes insurance, is not expected. In extreme cases, the total cost (vouchers and insurance) will change insignificantly (grow by several rubles for one day of rest).
It is predicted that insurance will definitely increase the level of culture in insurance issues and, most importantly, will bring real help to children in difficult situations. Also, in addition to increasing the demand for the service "insurance without savings", should become popular and accumulative insurance, which can be considered as an alternative to bank deposits, especially when the calculated cost of life insurance is a solid figure.
Returning to the topic of rest, we note that insure a child is a very reasonable decision. After all, according to statistics, many food poisoning and infectious diseases are registered annually in health camps. About 700 children are affected in one season. To rest does not turn into serious troubles, it is better to protect the child in advance, insure him.
