Unlike many cultural buildings of that era, this temple has retained its pristine grandeur and stunning appearance for centuries, offering visitors a real time travel experience.

For a long time, especially during the Cultural Revolution, the temple was closed, but in 1981 it reopened its doors, regaining its aura of calm and enlightenment. Beihai Park

Beihai Park: An oasis of calm in the heart of Beijing!

Imagine a real oasis of peace right in the middle of the bustling Beijing – this is Beihai Park, where only emperors once enjoyed solitude! Since 1925, this picturesque corner is open to everyone, inviting you to walk along the paths, breathe fresh air and forget about the bustle of the city.

The main treasures of the park are the white Buddhist stupa Bai Ta, towering on the island of Qionghuadao, an ancient courtyard with relics of the Yuan dynasty and an exquisite pavilion of five dragons. This pavilion with elegant arbors by the water is an ideal place for contemplation and meditation, where you can admire the reflections in the lake for hours.

Temple of Heaven

Temple of Heaven: A Masterpiece of Heavenly Harmony in Beijing

Discover the Temple of Heaven - a majestic ancient complex with exquisite buildings, which UNESCO proclaims a real masterpiece of traditional Chinese architecture and landscape design! Its unique design has inspired architects throughout the Far East for centuries, creating a symphony of forms and nature.

This sacred ensemble symbolizes the connection between earth and heaven – the worlds of people and gods. Here, the emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties performed sky worship rituals, praying for generous harvests and the prosperity of the empire. By the way, I once overheard a Russian-language tour: they believed that the emperor had a divine origin, so only he had the right to communicate directly with the heavens, making the temple the center of cosmic harmony.

Walk along its alleys, climb the altar and feel this ancient magic – the Temple of Heaven will give you a sense of eternity and inspiration!

Houhai Lake

Houhai Lake is the true heart of Shichahai, a charming area in the historic center of Beijing. The shore of the reservoir is strewn with restaurants and cafes where you can try tanhulu - a delicious dessert of fresh fruits and berries baked in crispy caramel.

Take a boat ride on the lake, and back on land, look at the house-museum Song Qingling – an outstanding revolutionary and honorary “grandmother of the nation”. In the evening, the atmosphere comes to life: visit the local bars and enjoy live music.

Summer Palace

On the territory of the Summer Palace there is an atmosphere of unhurried passage of time, where you can enjoy the artificial lake Kunming. In its calm waters, the roofs of the pavilions gild and the marble boat, a majestic stone ship, bends gracefully.

Among the treasures of the complex are the Longevity Hill, the exquisite Seventeen Arch Bridge and the cozy Garden of Harmonious Interests. And inside the palace attracts the gallery of the Long Corridor with a length of 728 meters, decorated with frescoes: it will take only about 10 minutes to inspect. Along the way, be sure to look into the walls - there come to life unique landscapes and bright genre scenes that do not repeat anywhere.

China Central Television Tower

The TV tower of the Chinese Central Television is a futuristic skyscraper with a height of 234 meters, comparable to the main building of Moscow State University in Moscow. Its distinctive feature is the ring-shaped design, because of which the building was nicknamed “Beijing pants”.

At the top there is an observation deck, which offers a stunning panoramic view of the city. Entrance will cost 100 yuan (about 1120 rubles).

Olympic Park

The Beijing Olympic Park was built specifically for the 2008 Summer Olympics, and some of the buildings were again useful during the 2022 Winter Olympics. Here you can take a pleasant walk, skate or just relax on the green grass in the warm season.

The park is decorated with impressive facilities: the Bird’s Nest stadium, whose design really resembles a branch shelter; the Water Cube with a water park inside and the tower with five roofs – a symbol of the Olympic rings.

Admission is free and the park is open around the clock at any time of the year. It is best to visit it in the evening when the mesmerizing illumination lights up.
