Amsterdam is a tourist's dream!

Amsterdam is a city of contrast. He was able to combine the beauty of world architecture and the ugliness of social vices. Perhaps due to its controversial image, Amsterdam is very popular with tourists and is one of the most visited cities in the world.

What attracts tourists to Amsterdam?

First of all, this city is very beautiful in itself. Walking through the streets of Amsterdam is endless. And you can go in any direction, around the river channels that stretch through the city, along the banks of cute brick houses, between them narrow streets with numerous shops and cozy cafes. Also in the city there are many striking architectural objects and world famous museums (for example, the Vincent Van Gogh Museum, the Rembrandt Museum, the Madame Tussauds Museum, etc.).

Secondly, in the Netherlands legalized “light” drugs – hashish and marijuana. But this does not mean that drugs can be bought in any store or kiosk. The sale of “light” drugs is allowed only in special establishments – coffee shops (Coffee Shop). Coffee shop is the only place where anyone (of course an adult) will be sold a drug like a cup of coffee. In the coffee shop bar there is no alcohol, on the counter there are only scales and a menu of two items - marijuana or hashish. Opposite each type is the price per joint and per gram. The atmosphere in such establishments is very calm and peaceful: quite smiling people sit at tables sipping cigarettes. The first coffee shops appeared in Amsterdam in the early 70s. In this establishment, in addition to coffee or tea, the visitor could buy Indian hemp, the so-called "Cannabis indica". For us, perhaps, it is not even surprising that the first coffee shop was called Russia, but without the Russians.
And thirdly, many are eager to come to Amsterdam to visit the famous Red Light District. The whole street is illuminated with neon red lights, and at every step you can meet girls of light behavior, writhing in half-lit windows, and openly offering their services. This is because prostitution is not punishable in the Netherlands, unlike in other countries. The red light district occupies a large area in the oldest part of the city. In addition to the tempting nightlife, the area has a certain charm, thanks to the old buildings and various museums.
There is a place in Amsterdam for every tourist. Regardless of the purpose of the stay, there is entertainment for everyone in this city!
