Attractions of the Urals: Nikolsky Bridge, Nikolskaya Cave, Nikolsky Key
In the Southern Urals (Chelyabinsk region) there is a whole complex of attractions with a similar name - Nikolsky: bridge, cave and spring.
Nikolsky Bridge
6 km from the city of Minyar is one of the most beautiful railway bridges of the Urals.
Nikolsky Arch Bridge over the Sim River was built in 1929-1930, it is considered the first arched concrete bridge in the USSR.
Several stories and legends are connected with the construction of the bridge, it is almost impossible to establish the historical truth now.
It is believed that the author of the project of this structure was a Russian engineer and scientist Nikolai Apollonovich Belelyubsky. There is evidence that the bridge was built by hand - the stone was carried on horses by special carts - grabarks, and the construction was led by a woman engineer.
The memory of the construction participant remains: many engineers did not believe that the bridge would withstand the train. When it came time to rent the object, and it was allowed a loaded train, in the boat under the bridge was an engineer - the head of construction.
Nikolsky Bridge is a monument of industrial heritage and architecture.
Nikolskaya cave
Behind the Nikolsky Bridge on the right bank of the Sim River next to the gardens in the forest is the Nikolskaya Cave.
The total length of strokes is 185 m, the total depth is 25 m. The cave has two wells and eight grottoes, stalactites and stalagmites.
Nikolsky key
Nikolsky key (or Nikolsky spring) is located next to the road Asha - Minyar - Sim (to the city of Minyar 7 km).
Near the source there is a small chapel in honor of Nicholas the Wonderworker.
The water from the spring is clean and tasty, it is believed that it contains silver ions.
