Attractions of the Urals: the Revun threshold and the Smolinskaya cave

In the eastern part of the Sverdlovsk region (Kamensky district) not far from each other are two amazing natural attractions.

The Revun threshold got its name for the noise of falling water, which in spring and summer is heard from afar.

River rapids are a unique phenomenon for the Middle Urals, in the spring its complexity category rises from second to fifth.

The Iset River, usually quiet and calm, near the village of Beklenishcheva falls into a rocky canyon, and dramatically changes its character: bubbling, roaring, and with great speed beats against the rocks. The total length of the threshold is 750 meters, a complex section is 300 meters.

The second, ancient name of the threshold - Burkan, from the verb "burr", that is, mumble, slurr.

The Iset River in the area was chosen by water athletes who hold competitions here, and the cliffs at the doorstep are popular with climbers who begin to ride here when the snow falls.

The Revun threshold is a geological and landscape monument of nature of the Sverdlovsk region, a popular place among tourists from all over Russia. In the birch grove from spring to autumn, there are many tents, people go here with whole families for several days.

Smolinskaya Cave is the second famous landmark in these parts, located two kilometers from the village of Beklenishcheva, a geomorphological and zoological natural monument of the Sverdlovsk region.

Smolinskaya cave is considered one of the longest in our region, the total length of the tunnels studied is approximately 890 meters (information as of 2015).

For many years there were legends about the cave that hermits, sorcerers, robbers and monks lived in it (in favor of the truthfulness of information about the latter, the names of grottoes speak: Paradise, Altar, Road to Hell, Big Cell and others).

Until the middle of the last century, the cave was inhabited by the largest colony of bats in Europe - water nightbirds, but due to the accessibility of the cave and the ignorance of visitors, it has significantly decreased.
