Interesting Moscow: noisy, burning fire Moscow.
The old grandmother walked around Moscow, but she took out the hearts of men, but she put it in the water, and with that water, while riding around Moscow, sprinkled, and therefore Moscow burned out. This is how they talked about the grandmother of Ivan Vasilyevich the Terrible, after a series of fierce Moscow fires.
But everything in order. So, in 1547, after the wedding (January 16) to the kingdom of Ivan IV, Glinsky (his relatives) gained a tremendous influence. By the summer, Moscow was intensively preparing for a campaign on Kazan, huge reserves of gunpowder were accumulated in order for the Tatars to “pump up”. According to legend, one warm evening at the gates of the Kremlin appeared the famous Moscow fool Vasily the Blessed, fervently praying and bitterly, sobbing for something. And then the fires started...
Everyone burned: merchants, servicemen, and artisans. " The fire was pouring down the river, Karamzin wrote. And soon the Kremlin, China-city, broke out. A big sat... The crackling of fire and the cries of people from time to time were drowned out by explosions of gunpowder stored in the Kremlin and other parts of the city.” Burning Arbat and the Kremlin, not burned out in April parts of China-city, Tver, Dmitrovka, Myasnitskaya ... The whole world put out. After that, the hell counted the number of burned corpses - 3700 per 100,000 living.
In Moscow, rumors spread that the city was burned by witchcraft, and the Glinskys were to blame for everything. The rumor said that Princess Anna allegedly tore up the graves and carved the hearts of the dead, and, having dried them, pushed them into powder and poured into the water, which sprinkled streets and houses. In general, this was the skillful propaganda of the conspirators: the tsarist confessor F. Barmin, Prince Skopin-Shuysky, the boyar I. P. Fedorov-Cheladnin, Prince Y. Temkin-Rostovsky, F. M. Nagogo and G. Y. Zakharyin.
On June 21, Muscovites extremely dissatisfied with witchcraft gathered in front of the Kremlin. Mostly they were “tough” people, that is, simple people. Glinsky came out to meet them - it looked as if the boar started in the fields with a hundred harvesters ... Anyway, it was ripped apart. After that, all the Glinsky yards were looted or destroyed.
And then the crowd went to ask the tsar, who at that time was trembling in Vorobyov, to give the rest of Glinsky to continue the "banquet". The king resented the fact that they, they say, have long gone abroad and so on. The angry crowd went home.
The king found the conspirators and could not forgive them. : Official history tells us that this weakened the boyars’ influence.
But to hell with it, with official history! Drawing conclusions:
- the king was faced with the fact that people could come with pitchforks and push them into the king's throat. They'll be running around for the rest of their lives.
It is clear that this postponed the accession of Kazan for a couple of years.
By the way, it had its consequences (weakening the speed of accession) for the direction to Perm.
- the priest Sylvester successfully led after the rebellion to the king and was able to convince that this is heavenly punishment and that if he does not glorify the church, does not give Sylvester gifts and will continue to execute the people for rebellion - he is waiting for other punishments.
The enemy of the official Russian Orthodox Church, the one who advocated the humiliation of the church, Theodosius Kosoi and several of his closest associates successfully escaped from the burning prison.
