Enlightened in Perm: sights of Perm

Perm is a city with its own history, traditions and culture. A developed culture. This is indicated by the fact that Perm has a large number of cultural institutions, as well as the fact that the Permians themselves proudly call their city the “cultural capital”. This can not be disputed, because Perm is really famous for its heritage, namely the famous luxury theaters.

Perm Academic Tchaikovsky Opera and Ballet Theatre

Address: street. Petropavlovskaya 25 and

One of the oldest musical theaters in Russia. Perm Opera and Ballet Theatre has been conducting its official chronicle since 1870. Non-standard staging solutions of classics, the development of modern musical material and non-trivial festival projects are what distinguished the theater at all times. Such famous Russian operas as “Foam of Days” by Edison Denisov, “Cleopatra” by Jules Massenet, “Lolita” by Rodion Shchedrin, “Altsin” by Georg Friedrich Handel and other equally famous ones took place here. A unique feature of the Perm Opera and Ballet Theatre is also in working with rare material. For example, in 2011, Sergei Prokofiev’s ballet The Shoot, 90 years after its first premiere, was again presented to the world in scenery and choreography close to the original. Perm Theatre is known not only in Russia, but also in the world - every year a huge success accompanies the theater's tour in Spain, France, Ireland, Germany, Portugal and Greece. The Opera and Ballet Theatre won first place in Perm in the number of Golden Masks - nineteen!

Perm Theatre "At the Bridge"

Address: Kuibysheva St. 11

The author’s Theater “At the Bridge”, created in 1988 by Sergey Fedotov, literally blew up the cultural situation of Perm with bright, original and unique performances. Initially, the theater received its name due to its proximity to the Kamsky Bridge, but after the phrase Theatre “At the Bridge” becomes a sign expressing its artistic meaning. The fact is that S. Fedotov’s productions are like a bridge between the real and the otherworldly, the everyday and the mystical. Mysticism here means finding ways to embody on the stage the deep, invisible, belonging to the sphere of the human subconscious. In other words, it is the development of the psychophysics of the actor, his ability to work with inner energy and strength. This is what makes the Perm Theatre famous and unlike others. To date, U Bridge has toured in India, Austria, Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic, Bulgaria, etc. (a total of 17 countries), as well as in many cities of Russia and the Near Abroad.

Perm Academic Theatre-Theatre

Address: Lenin Street 53

The theater was founded in 1927 as the Theater of Working Youth (TRAM) and only in 2007 the director and artistic director Boris Milgram renamed it the Perm Academic Theater-Theater. The uniqueness of the theater is that it is dynamic and diverse. For example, in 2009, a parallel project was launched on the basis of a small hall: Theater of the present time "Scene-Hammer", focused on modern drama and specializing in experimental productions. After that, the project “Laboratory of Young Directing” was launched, designed to discover new names and revise the standard scheme for creating a play, leading to predictable decisions and productions. Even later, in 2013, the Theatre-Theatre holds a festival of street theaters. This project has a great impact on the audience. Vladimir Gurfinkel, director of the Perm Academic Theatre-Theatre in 2013-2014, argues that: Street theaters bring to our lives a genuine brightness and element of spontaneity. The whole point of their existence is to knock people out of the vicious circle of everyday life: you walk down the street and suddenly find yourself in an incredible action, a completely different space. When seemingly uncomplicated, street theaters are often deeper and smarter than theaters under roofs – they provoke people to think differently.” The new ideas of the Perm Academic Theatre have borne fruit - 5 Golden Masks.
