The most favorite holiday of Russians is approaching - New Year. Already now, many are thinking how to hold it so that it is not hurtful for the effort, time and money spent. It seems that some of our compatriots have found a way out – a trip abroad!
On the eve of the holidays, we decided to find out which countries Russian tourists prefer to choose for the most beloved holiday - the New Year. After studying all the variety of offers on the market and reviewing the statistics of past years, we compiled a rating of preferences of our compatriots.
So, the third place is behind Finland, Lapland and other Scandinavian countries, which are becoming more and more popular among Russian tourists every year. First of all attracts the residence of Santa Claus, Santa Park and the most interesting themed excursions in Lapland. This holiday is to the liking of couples with children and everyone who believes in Santa. There are also tours to such resorts in Finland as Vuokatti, Palakka and Ukkohalla, where you can go skiing, dog sleds, or you can just rent a separate cottage and enjoy all the beauty of northern nature. The market also presents very interesting travel programs in Sweden (the ski resorts of Ore, it is also called the “Scandinavian Alps”, which consists of four villages that differ from each other, where everyone can find what he needs) and Norway (ski resorts in Geilo, Hemsedal, etc.). Norway is also distinguished from other countries by the incredible beauty of nature, which is truly amazing, which is the best suited for the scenery of your New Year's fairy tale.
The second place in our ranking is occupied by countries that go to spend the New Year holidays actively, standing on skis or a board, well, if you are very tired, then sitting on a sled. These are the countries of good old Europe with its ski resorts in Austria (where 2/3 of the territory is occupied by the Alps and there are about 800 resorts, almost all mountainous settlements), Switzerland ("local" Alps are considered the birthplace of mountaineering and skiing, here you can visit such resorts as Verbier, Champery, Engelberg and many others), France (here the Alpine ski resorts are considered one of the most expensive and elite in the world, among them: Chamonixel, Val d'Isere, Tiennes, Vélélérère, Mélélérère, Mélélélélé, Lérèveilles, Lélélé, and Drévé).
In these countries and, first of all, in Austria, which is the leader in this segment, the opportunity to engage in all types of winter holidays is attractive, against the background of a milder climate than in most of Russia, excellent service, developed infrastructure and affordable prices. Here you can relax as a large company, a family with children, and two lovers who want to be alone.
The first place in the popularity rating among Russians who prefer to celebrate the New Year outside their homeland is occupied by warm countries and the so-called beach holiday. This is not surprising, given that winters are cold and summers are usually short. To spend the winter holidays where the sun shines in itself is amazing, and if it is still diluted with sights, exotic and, of course, excellent services, which allows you to forget about everyday worries and without a rest to give up. Three of the most popular “beach” countries: Thailand, Egypt, UAE. Yeah, that's the order. Thailand pushed Egypt from the first place, which for a very long time led not only in the “New Year’s top list” of Russians. The resorts of Egypt have been consistently popular among our compatriots throughout the year over the past few years.
So, the United Arab Emirates has become synonymous with luxury and service at the highest level and, of course, excellent weather at any time of the year. Most tourists stay in Dubai. Today’s Dubai is a rich modern metropolis, flooded with luxury cars, built up with glass skyscrapers, sparkling in the rays of the sun, and at the same time really colorful, with all the Eastern attributes – hookahs, coffee houses, flocks of wives in burqas – and a kind of mixture of inner dignity and craftiness inherent in the locals. All this undoubtedly attracts tourists, and the prospect of meeting NG in the desert, or on the shores of the Persian Gulf, or just in a chic restaurant is impressive. Plus, all this is great shopping and unforgettable impressions.
Egypt, which led for several years among Russians, has already become a traditional place of dislocation, which is the most important disadvantage, since many do not like to face head-on with their compatriots on vacation, however, Egyptian resorts remain one of the most popular places that Russians visit. Thus, according to the director, tour operator of TEZ Tour Vladimir Kaganer, their company plans to send 30% more customers to Egypt in the autumn-winter of 2010-2011 than in the same period last year. Everyone knows that in the resorts of this Arab country, tourists will receive a guaranteed good service, an amazing Red Sea, with the opportunity not only to swim near the coast, but also to dive and see the diversity of underwater life. Egypt is attractive for holidaymakers with children, as there are children's areas, and you can not worry about the leisure and safety of your children. At such popular resorts as Sharm El Sheikh, Hurghada, Dahab, everyone will find rest and entertainment to the taste and weight of the wallet. Due to all this, including the relative cheapness of tours, Egypt is the most popular place for Russians to spend winter holidays abroad after Thailand.
And finally, the first place rightfully takes Thailand. This is a holiday on snow-white beaches, drowning in tropical greenery on the islands of Phuket, Koh Samui, Pattaya. It is an exquisite Thai cuisine, it is a world-famous Thai massage, it is an acquaintance with original culture and traditions, it is an unforgettable acquaintance with a fabulous country. There is an opinion that the resorts of Thailand are not suitable for family holidays with children and it is better to go to the same Egypt, but for everyone else there is something to see. It is not for nothing that more and more Russians go there and specifically for the New Year. Just imagine in the central part of Russia on December 31, as a rule, it is -20 degrees, and in Thailand +30, warm seas, a lot of exotic, snow-white beaches, a lot of party places where you will never be bored. Thailand has everything that Russians associate with a good holiday for reasonable money, which is why the flow of tourists from Russia is increasing. Due to the fact that on the territory of this kingdom there are many resort towns and islands, you do not have to communicate only with compatriots.
