Wedding on the islands
To play a wedding on the shores of the azure ocean, among tropical plants under the scorching sun - more and more lovers dream about it and go to exotic islands to bind their lives forever with an oath of love and loyalty.
The islands are not only a ceremony in a beautiful place, but also an opportunity to get in touch with the traditions and customs that exist there, take some of them for your wedding.
In Bermuda, it is customary to decorate the top of the wedding cake with a young tree. When the wedding ceremony ends, the young plant him in front of the house. The love of the couple will live as long as the tree grows.
A very beautiful custom exists on the islands of Samoa. Here is a very unusual wedding dress of the bride: a dress made of mulberry bark, and on the head – a crown of live flowers and real pearls.
In the Caribbean, there is only one wedding day: Monday. In Barbados, Grenada and Santa Lucia, the bride’s family bakes a huge black cake. His recipe is passed down from generation to generation. To prepare the cake, dried fruits are used, which are pre-soaked in rum and withstand from two weeks to six months.
But not all customs are so beautiful. On the island of Bali before the wedding, the groom kidnaps the bride in accordance with the traditions that developed during their fathers and grandfathers. After that, the young go to the temple, where for a few days almost half of their teeth are cut off. It is believed that this painful procedure allows you to overcome everything that can interfere with life together: selfishness, envy, jealousy. In addition, sawed teeth, which cease to be sharp, symbolize non-participation in the world of evil spirits.
In Tahiti, an engagement must take place before the wedding. This tradition, which has existed on the islands for a long time, is necessary in order to establish relations between the families of the bride and groom.
In addition, the groom’s family is made to present the best gifts here. This happens on the wedding day before the wedding ceremony.
They bless the young in sacred mares, open-air temples. Here the bride and groom in front of the priest give an oath of love and loyalty, and he reads a prayer to the gods for their happy future. After that, the newlyweds, holding hands, sit on a white carpet brought by relatives. And before them lay the skulls of their dead ancestors, who are considered protectors of the family. After prayer and blessing with a branch of sugar cane, the young are covered with a large marriage veil. Only then does the fun and fun begin.
Each country has its own customs, so different and different from each other, but they have one thing in common - only that family can be truly strong, which is based on pure and mutual love for each other.
