Mount Field National Park

66 Lake Dobson Road, National Park TAS 7140, Australia

Description:

Mount Field National Park is perhaps the most popular among locals. Visitors are attracted here by picturesque mountain landscapes, moorlands, clean lakes and magnificent cascading waterfalls.

The park is located 70 kilometers northwest of Hobart. Its undoubted advantages include the fact that it offers walks in picturesque places lasting from 20 minutes to a whole daylight. At the entrance to the park there is all the necessary information for visitors: routes, main attractions, distances to them.

The brightest point of the trip can be Russell Falls. Its powerful water flow, a dense veil enveloping mountain protrusions, in 1885 was recognized as a natural monument, and the territory around it was declared protected.

Unique trees and shrubs will surround you as you walk through the park. Beautiful specimens of tree ferns will allow you to mentally transfer to millions of years ago, in the era of dinosaurs. Green alpine meadows with delicate pastel colors will give minutes of real joy to connoisseurs of beauty. If you get here in winter, you will be able to take a ski walk along the mountain slopes and get a great winter tan.

If you are among the real lucky ones, then in the park you can meet a platypus, echidna and even a marsupial devil.
