Namaji National Park

Namaji National Park, Brindabella Road, Corey, Capital Territory of Australia, Australia

Description:

Namaji National Park is located in the southwestern part of the Australian Capital Territory. It is 40 kilometers from Canberra, and the area is equal to 1,058 square kilometers. The National Park was established in 1984 and was inscribed on the Australian National Heritage List on 7 November 2008.

On its territory there are amazing granite rocks of the northern extremities of the Australian Alps. The flora and fauna of the park are very diverse - from extensive grassy plains in the valleys to eucalyptus forests and alpine meadows on the mountain slopes, eastern gray kangaroos, wallabies, wombats, Australian magpies, rosella parrots and crows live here.

In the Naas Valley grows a unique huge tree, which is called the Natural Dormitory, - about 400 species of Australian birds, bats and mammals made nests, hollows and minks in it.

In order to get acquainted with the life of the first inhabitants of these places, a 9-kilometer Settlers Trail is laid in the southern part of the park, which passes through several historical places - huts and peasant yards, hedges and cattle pens.
