Mazepa National Park

Mazeppa Frankfield Queensland 4721, Australia

Description:

Mazeppa is a national park located in the Australian state of Queensland. Mazeppa Park was established in 1972 and covers an area of about 41 square kilometers. The park is named after Hetman of Ukraine Ivan Mazepa. Among the attractions of the park are all 130 species of its plants, among which many rare herbs and eucalyptus are especially unique.

Individual eucalyptus trees can reach giant sizes: up to 100 meters in height and up to 20 meters in girth. However, even in such eucalyptus, you can not hide in the shade, the fact is that the leaves of eucalyptus always turn edge to the sun. Therefore, in eucalyptus groves there is always a lot of sun and moisture.

Eucalyptus is rightly called the living sights of Australia. Australia is the birthplace of eucalyptus, here live koalas that feed on the shoots of this amazing plant.

An adult eucalyptus tree can absorb and evaporate more than 300 liters of water per day. The wood of eucalyptus is almost not amenable to rotting, another feature of eucalyptus is surprising - its "fire resistance", yet no fire could completely destroy eucalyptus.
