Description:

We all know that the Blue Mountains are beautiful. But few people know that they are famous not only for the magnificent rainforests located on their slopes, but also for the Jenolan caves located deep in their bowels. Since 1866, they have been a national treasure and one of the most unusual sights to visit.

The Jenolan Caves were first explored by Jeremy Wilson, who was so struck by their beauty that he even settled in one of the caves. Small underground rivers turned the caves into a real labyrinth, in which careless tourists disappeared many times. Today, special tours and routes with experienced guides are organized in the bowels of the Blue Mountains. Unusual this place makes and rich in iron oxide breed, coloring stalactites in yellow, red and blue divorces. But in some places it is not, and all the vaults and walls are completely snow-white.

It is impossible to call the caves gloomy. The sun penetrates into small cracks and holes, filling the caves with light and cheerful colors. The most beautiful hall of the Genolan Caves is called the "Great Arch". Another unusual place is called "Devil's carriage barn". Its walls are cut with numerous entrances, and the floor is strewn with blocks of limestone.
