Description:

Australia’s first park was established in Sydney in 1810. Its founder was Governor Lachlan Macquarie. Sydney Park received its name in honor of its eponymous London brother.

Today, Hyde Park is a center of mass recreation - people come here to walk, sit with friends on a bench, run or lie down with a book on an emerald lawn. The main rule of the park is a complete ban on the use of alcoholic beverages.

Hyde Park has its own attractions. There is a memorial to Captain James Cook and a monument to the victims of the war. Especially popular among visitors is the Archibald Fountain, where live music always plays.
