Sydney Harbor National Park

Mosman New South Wales 2088, Australia

Description:

Sydney Harbour National Park is located on the coast of Sydney Bay. Precipitous peninsulas, small islands, stretches of coast flooded by tides are practically untouched by man and according to the classification of the International Union for Conservation of Nature are classified as protected terrestrial and marine landscapes.

The idea of creating a park was born at the end of the XIX century, but active work in this direction began only in 1965. The park was officially opened on April 4, 1975 and has since expanded to 4.11 km2.

Visitors to the park have a variety of educational programs and excursions: here you can take part in a sailing regatta, kayak or walk of any complexity, explore the ancient cave paintings of the Cadigal tribe accompanied by an aboriginal guide or visit the popular beaches of Balmoral, Manly and Chowder Bay. Curious tourists will be able to get acquainted with the heritage of Australian convicts - exhibitions and expositions are now held in former barracks and granaries. For family holidays, Taronga Zoo, Nielsen Park and Parsley Bay, also located in the national park, are perfect.

After a walk, you can eat plenty of fish and fried potatoes in Watson Bay.
