Spit Bridge

Spit Road, Mosman NSW 2088, Australia

Description:

The Spit Bridge, built over a sand spit, is one of the city’s important transport arteries. For the first time the bridge on this place appeared in 1924, replacing the water communication, which was the main one since the end of the XIX century. Construction of the new drawbridge was started in 1952 and completed in 1958, after some delay.

On the south side of the Spit Bridge is the Yacht Club, as well as a kayaking and kayaking rental station, where tourists can rent a boat or study with an instructor. However, the most popular activity is the hiking route to Manly Beach, which starts here.

The path along the spit to Manly Beach is one of the classic, it runs along the northern beaches of Sydney. Throughout the route length of about seven kilometers, travelers can safely move along a landscaped path, which offers a beautiful view of the harbor. A walk along this route is great for both sports lovers and lovers of romantic walks along the sea shore.

The end point of the route is Manly Beach – a real Mecca for water sports fans who come here from all over the world. There is an aquarium near the beach.
