Sydney Cricket Ground Stadium

Sydney Cricket Ground is a popular sports arena for cricket and Australian football. The stadium is located in Sydney and is the largest cricket field in the country.

The first stadium on the site of the modern Sydney Cricket Ground was opened in 1848 9 and was mainly used by soldiers of the British garrison stationed in Sydney. Since then, the stadium has been rebuilt, modernized and expanded many times. In 1894, this sports ground finally got its current name.

Until the First World War, the stadium was used for many sports - there were competitions in athletics, tennis, football, baseball and cycling. The last major refurbishment of the stadium was carried out in 1978 - the information board and field covering were replaced, and the sectors for spectators were modernized. The stadium currently holds 48,000 spectators. In addition to sports, the Sydney Cricket Ground is used as a concert venue, where the most prominent pop stars of the world stage, including Madonna and Michael Jackson, performed.
