Feast of the Body of the LordThe feast of the Body of Christ gained special love thanks to the ornate processions that take place on this day through the streets of cities, which can be seen in today’s Austria.

In every federal state, the feast of the body of the Lord has its own unique differences. For example, in Upper Austria, “lake processions” are held to commemorate the introduction of this holiday during the Counter-Reformation.

And in the federal state of Salzburg during the festive procession carry a beautifully decorated prangstangen (wooden pole 6-8 m long, decorated with garlands of flowers).
