Bergkirche Church

Bergkirche Church is one of the most beautiful city churches in Eisenstadt in the Austrian province of Burgenland. The Baroque temple appeared in 1770-77, thanks to the initiative of the famous Prince Estergazi. The church was built on an artificial mound, modeled after the famous temples of Italy. The interior of the cathedral with its rounded forms resembles a theater hall.

But the greatest treasure of the church is a large church organ in 1772, which, during his lifetime, played the great Austrian composer Joseph Haydn. Also in the church is the mausoleum of Haydn, where his remains are located, in a sarcophagus made of white marble.
