Bad Leonfelden

Museum of the Evangelical Church

Rutzenmoos 5, Voecklabruck, Austria

Description:

The Museum of the Evangelical Church is housed in a former Lutheran school and consists of 13 halls that vividly present the history of evangelical Christians in the Upper Austria region since the sixteenth century.

Luther’s teachings quickly resonated in the hearts of Austrians – up to 80% of the locals were Protestants. The museum contains many interesting documents, which tell, in particular, about the confrontation between evangelical Christians and Protestants. Also, there are ancient Holy Scriptures, furniture and paintings. There is also an old pulpit from which the pastor once preached.

The museum runs from Thursday to Sunday from 10-12am, then from 14-18pm. Please note that the tour of the museum is carried out by prior agreement.
