Maria Loretto Castle

Lorettoweg 52, Klagenfurt, Austria

Description:

Maria Loretto Castle is a two-storey rectangular building of the XVII century, impressive tourists with its monumental beauty. The castle was originally the summer residence of Count Johann Andr von Rosenberg, built in 1652 in the spirit of the Italian Renaissance. In addition, the wealthy count owned gardens around the castle, to this day dotted with many interesting sculptures, as well as a chapel located on the territory of the residence.

In 1708, the castle almost died as a result of a strong fire, but was later restored, but many details about its original appearance, unfortunately, have not survived. Interestingly, the chapel combines architectural elements of several eras. There are some fragments of a small statue of the Madonna Loretto, as well as an ancient altar.

Note that there are many hotels around the castle, in addition, tourists can enjoy a holiday on a picturesque vacation.
