Floating Ball Fountain in Baden
Kaiser Franz-Ring 8, Baden, Austria
Description:
Fountain "Floating Ball" is an original and very funny composition, made in a modern style, located in the central city park - Kurpark, near the casino. In such an original form of fountains, the property of water incompressibility is used: water is pumped under pressure between the sphere and its module, and the ball is kept on the so-called water cushion.
This granite ball is supported by a huge number of thin streams of water, and it can be easily untwistled as you like a normal ball, despite its solid mass. By the way, this type of fountain appeared recently and is not common. To date, there is no common name for them, although the most commonly used is "Floating Ball".
