The Undine Fountain
Undine Brunnen, Baden, Austria
Description:
The fountain "Undina" is an original sculptural composition in the central city park - Kurpark. The stone composition depicts a beautiful and young girl sprinkling water over the surrounding aquatic inhabitants and people who, apparently, are her victims.
It is also interesting that the statue of the girl is made of white stone, and animals and people are made of brown, which gives a special flavor to the fountain. By the way, Undines in German mythology are called the spirits of water in the form of beautiful virgins, luring men with their beauty and charm to the water depths, that is, mermaids. The fountain was opened in 1903 by Austrian sculptor Josef Kassin.
