Fountain on Wiednerplatzchen
Wiednerplatzchen 1, Graz, Austria
Description:
The Austrian city of Graz pleases guests and locals with beautiful architectural structures of different eras and styles. Here you can enjoy magnificent castles, Gothic and Baroque cathedrals, as well as many small symbolic structures. One of them is the fountain located on Widnerplatzkin Street. At its top are the figures of four crows, turned heads to each other. The height of the structure is about 2.5 meters.
Tourists are amazed by the accuracy of the birds - they have so well visible plumage that it seems as if they are about to take off. The bottom of the fountain is made in the form of a circle, the diameter of which is about 1.5 meters. It is covered with beautiful marble tiles of black color. The fountain often attracts the eyes of passers-by, but some prefer to bypass it, as they find it somewhat gloomy.
Many tourists wonder what this design symbolizes. Some believe that this is just an idea of the author, which does not carry much meaning, and some suggest that this fountain symbolizes the government fees at which urban issues were decided, often not in favor of local residents.
