Description:

The Jesuit Church, located in the historic center of Innsbruck, was built in 1619 on the site of a destroyed theological college. The facade of the building is made in the Baroque style, and two elegant towers rise above the central entrance. The interior space is striking with spaciousness, the floors are decorated with beautiful mosaics. Among the main treasures of the church are the tombs of Duke Leopold and his wife, as well as a bell weighing more than 9 tons - one of the largest in Austria! In 2003-2004, the church was completely reconstructed, restorers restored the main altar destroyed during the Second World War.

The Jesuit Church is the official temple of the University of Innsbruck and is actively engaged in pastoral, liturgical, cultural and educational activities. Divine services are held in 20 languages, including Russian.
