Church of the Heart of Christ

Maximilianstrase 6, Innsbruck, Austria

Description:

The Church of the Heart of Christ is one of the most striking sights of Innsbruck, you can see it in front of the University of Innsbruck Hospital. Its architecture is in harmony with nearby buildings, so it does not stand out from the urban ensemble.

The construction of the Church of the Heart of Christ was planned at the end of the XVIII century, but the plans were not destined to come true - the war and problems with money did not allow to implement the plan. We had to wait another century before the construction of the monastery began.

Tourists can see that the decoration of the church is rich – there is gold and velvet. The walls and ceilings are painted in such a way that it seems as if you are in a palace.

The church holds daily services, and confession is also available daily, except on Saturday and Sunday.
