Wildensteiner Falls

Wildenstein, Gallizien, Austria

Description:

Wildensteiner Falls is the highest freefall waterfall in Europe and the most suitable place in the region for a short walk in nature.

The waterfall got its name from the ruins of the castle, which was located just above and was destroyed by an earthquake in 1348.

The ascent to the waterfall goes along a steep serpentine, not available for every tourist. With each step, the lift becomes heavier and the air becomes wetter. At the end point there is an opportunity to rest on the platform, take a breath and enjoy the luxurious views of the waterfall, which as if bursts out of a vertical stone wall and the stream of water falls down from a height of 54 meters.
