Persman Museum

Koprein-Petzen 3, Eisenkappel, Austria

About the company:

The Persman Museum is the only museum in Carinthia dedicated to the history of resistance to Nazism.

The museum was founded in 1982 and is located on a remote farm near the border with Slovenia. On a small area of 100 square meters, there is an exhibition with documents and research results showing war crimes, now covered from a variety of angles.

In 2012, the museum was expanded, which allowed to add to the exhibits of the museum artifacts of the history of Slovenians. The main focus is on the resistance of the partisans and their role during the Nazi regime. Listening stations, audiovisual devices and numerous biographical stories show the museum guests the regional history of the resistance movement.

The museum, along with the organization of exhibitions, conducts a large number of educational events and excursions for schoolchildren and adults and even presents thematic theater numbers within its walls.
