Austrian Paper Museum
Museumsplatz 1, Laakirchen, Austria
About the company:
Previously, a paper factory was located on the site of the museum center. It existed perfectly from 1868 to 1988. Thousands of pulp products came off its conveyors a day. This is writing paper, the main toiletry, canvases for artists, wallpaper and much more.
After closing the factory was empty for a long time. In 1997 it was opened as a museum. At first it was only one room with huge paper machines and pulp whitening. Three years later, the printing house appeared. In 2003, the "Old Factory" renovated the remaining premises, which were given for various exhibitions. They were occupied by an art gallery, a fire brigade museum, a painting school and many others.
In addition to excursions, lectures and seminars are arranged in the museum of the paper manufacturer.
