Museum of Moravo-Silesian Culture

Schiesstattgasse 2 (Rostockvilla), Klosterneuburg, Austria

About the company:

The Maehrisch-Schlesisches Heimatmuseum is a museum of Moravian-Silesian culture. The museum consists of exhibits that were once part of a private collection, which was started in 1918. The museum was established in 1957 in Vienna on the basis of the Viennese Museum of Culture of Silesia and Moravia, and in 1973 moved to Klosterneuburg to the so-called Villa Rostock.

The expositions of the museum each time present something new and interesting, showing documents, postcards, books, textiles, national costumes, dishes and other household items of the time of prosperity of the two states of Moravia and Silesia.

The museum is funded and supported by voluntary donations. In the museum you can book an individual tour. The museum maintains contacts with many museums in Austria, sharing cultural experiences.
