The Museum of Art until 1918 was a vast palace complex in the heart of Vienna, which served as the political center of the monarchy. Today it is not only the home of the President, the Prime Minister and the office of the Chancellor of the Republic. In a long elongated asymmetrical complex with 19 courtyards and 18 wings are numerous cultural institutions. Among them is the Art Museum.
Special attention in the museum deserves a silver collection of imperial tableware. But also in the museum you can find many exhibits, including personal belongings of the royal family. In the museum you can get an idea of court culture, ceremonial etiquette and many other interesting details of royal life.
