Phillach is not the capital of Carinthia. Show of eagles and zoo with Japanese macaques.

Description:

This is why Fillach is called the "unofficial" capital of Carinthia and how Maria Theresa annexed it to the Habsburgs in 1759. Who is Paracelsus and what is Kirchtag? And then an incredible eagle show and the world of Japanese macaques in the ruins of Landskron Castle.

Perhaps someone will accuse me of bias, but I think that Fillach is the most charming city in all of Austria. Lively, dynamic and modern, despite the fact that the first documentary mention of it as "Pons Uillach" dates back to 878. The city, which like the Phoenix bird, was reborn after the terrible earthquake of 1690 and the devastating fires of 1524, 1606, 1713 and 1813. Special people live here - the close location of the borders of Austria, Italy and Slovenia have done their job. Austrian prudence and pedantry, bright Italian temperament, softness and charm of the Slovenian peoples are closely intertwined in the Fillaja region. And you have the opportunity to see for yourself.

And after you expect another fascinating sight and not even one. We will climb a 135-meter mountain and find ourselves in the ruins of the ancient castle of Landskron, which offers a stunning panorama. This unfortunate castle four times became the victim of fires due to lightning strikes - at the beginning of the XIV century, in 1542, 1585 and 1812. Here we will see an unusual performance with the participation of birds of prey: eagles, kites, owls and others. These birds fly several times a day to the nearest neighborhood and certainly return. True, sometimes there are claims of owners of local chicken coops - proud birds are not averse to hunting.

Nearby is a unique monkey park "Affenberg", where about 150 Japanese macaques live. Moreover, animals move freely throughout the park, and even try to climb into your bag for a delicious one.
